Last October, I purchased a cake for my son that was absolutely delicious. However, when I ordered a cake for my friend's birthday on April 11, 2024, I was disappointed. Despite being the smallest marble cake for six people, it looked as though someone had simply split a white cake, added chocolate syrup, and put it back together. The two flavors didn't blend well, resulting in a dry, tasteless cake that was more like eating straight sugar. The saving grace was the whipped cream icing, which was quite good. I don't mind paying $22 for a cake as long as it's tasty, but this one missed the mark.

I recently had a gender reveal party and decided to order my cake from Hermitage Bakery for $70. When I picked up the cake, it was beautifully decorated, but the box provided was too large for the 14-inch circle cake I ordered. Despite the mismatch, I trusted that the bakery knew what they were doing. However, during the drive home, the cake shifted in the box, causing the icing to smear and ruin the design. I called the bakery and was told I could bring the cake back for a fix, but I didn't have time. When my sister took the cake back, they demanded a $15 decoration fee to correct their mistake. Frustrated, I stood my ground and insisted they fix it without additional charges. The owner eventually agreed, but blamed me for the mishap. The entire experience was stressful and disappointing, as the bakery should have used the correct box to avoid such issues. Moving forward, I hope Hermitage Bakery pays more attention to the packaging of their cakes to prevent customer dissatisfaction. If the owner or manager would like to discuss this further, I would appreciate a phone call as I have already shared my negative experience with others.

The bakery has undergone new ownership since 2018, and customers have been delighted with the changes. Reading reviews from 2018 onwards showcases how satisfied patrons are with the delightful products and impeccable cleanliness of the bakery.

I recently ordered five pastries from this bakery, paid for my purchase, and even left a tip for the staff. However, when I got home and checked my order, I realized that there were only two items that were correct. It's essential to double-check your order before leaving to ensure that you receive the correct items.

During the early days of the COVID-19 shutdown, we found ourselves in need of two birthday cakes. With all the bakeries in town closed, we were relieved when Hermitage Bakery offered to help us out. Driving 20 miles to pick up the cakes, we were hoping for something delicious and beautiful, and we were not disappointed. The chocolate hoho cake we got for my son-in-law was simply amazing! When we brought it to their house, my granddaughters surprised us with a birthday song and a fun celebration in the yard. Then it was time for us to enjoy the almond tort cake for our shared birthday. Thanks to Hermitage Bakery, our quarantine birthdays were made extra special. Now, we're planning to call them again for my oldest daughter's upcoming birthday. As a seven-year survivor of bone/breast cancer, she deserves nothing but the best cake to celebrate her special day.

I recently had a disappointing experience with a cake decorator who was more interested in communicating through Facebook rather than talking to me in person. It felt very unprofessional that they couldn't spare a few minutes for a face-to-face conversation to understand my cake preferences. Due to this lack of customer service, I won't be returning to that bakery. Instead, I'll be turning to Giant Eagle for my future cake needs.
